Anna Siedykh x Olha Bekenshtein: Cudzinečnosť

Event of the 18th annual festival [fusion].

We invite you to an evening full of poetry and music. Poet Anna Siedykh will read her Slovak-Ukrainian poems. Anna works with the themes of identity and home, trying to grasp the contemporary space and how the war changes it. She looks for common points, while touching on places of misunderstanding. Olha Bekenshtein, an Ukrainian DJ from the Kyiv center Closer, will respond to the text, and will also play her own DJ set after the reading.

Anna Siedykh is a translator and journalist. She works in Trnava’s Malý Berlin as a production manager and dramaturgist for Ukrainian and literary programs. At the same time, she is the curator of the Ukrainian program at the Goethe-Institut in Bratislava. In addition, she translates and writes articles for Slovak and Ukrainian media. Her bilingual collection Cudzinečnost will be published soon by the FACE publishing house.

Olga Bekenshtein works as a dramaturg of the music program in the Kyiv center Closer. She is the founder of the Am I Jazz festival? and co-organizer of the festival of Ukrainian music in Oslo – Svitanok.
