COMPOSING IN SPACE

Afternoon workshop centered in dance improvisational practice will connect our dance training with the compositional focus. After having tuned into the perceptivity of the body through a few somatic propositions, we will relate to space attending to questions like: How are we revealing the space by our dance? How do we know where and when to move to? How do we relate to the space inside and outside of our bodies? By this practice, the phenomenon of space will expand in the body-mind which we will further follow in the compositional work.
One of the aims in this class is to cultivate our “compositional mind” – the skillful body recognition of how we are in space and time relating to other dancing bodies and ground, and how our creative mind reads these relational tendencies in action.
One of the ´extras´ in this work is that next to the action and its precision we practice a direct reading of what is made and also being touched, physically and metaphorically, by the poetic and imaginative potentials of our moves.
Everyone with some experience with dance is welcome!
