There are places we avoid. We stay away from them. We prefer to make a detour. We don't talk about them, it's taboo.

The exhibition Passage Through The Space explores our relationship with places that have been affected by war or military activity. They have become non-places without a clear purpose or reason for being. Three artists enter these spaces and create a photographic record of the timelessness that reigns in the former Eastern Bloc. The photographic works are particularly linked by the current conflict in Ukraine, which Yana Kononova depicts in delicate photographs of a disappearing peat bog – a place that the majority of society considers an unproductive obstacle. As a result of the war, we are losing these hidden habitats. Filip Láb and Bára Mrázková use the format of a fictional documentary to explore an abandoned military site that keeps alive the forgotten battles of the Cold War, a memory of a divided world.
Open every Wednesday and Friday, 1-6pm.
