Explore: TDK (BG) + Kosmonauci (PL) + Zimbru (RO)

The Bulgarian band TDK is going on tour, which will also include a stop in Bratislava. They will be joined by Kosmonauci from neighboring Poland.

TDK

„TDK is probably the most interesting act coming from Bulgaria right now. I don’t like these kinds of descriptions, but imagine if Mark Giuliana, Zack Hill, Colin Stetson, Suicide, Swans, and Sade had a child. It would be a weird six-some, but yeah, that’s life right now. The band released their third and most critically acclaimed album less than a year ago, and will be releasing new material. The album got and insane amount of reviews online, even Anthony Fantano gave it a shoutout, which for a Bulgarian band speaks something.

I strongly recommend this artist, not because I’m a part of the band, but as a booker, because the performances are wild, and the guys know what they are doing. Their popularity in Bulgaria is an attestation to that. The band, as you will see from the live videos has an erratic, very energetic, and frankly schizophrenic live performance which just doesn’t disappoint.

The band will be on tour in October which will pas by Bratislava – if you have an interest in helping me out it will be more than welcome! Thank you!“ – Proky

Kosmonauci

Kosmonauci is a boysband with a jazz background that draws on hip-hop, drum & bass and improvisation in its musical language. The instrumentation, which includes saxophone, bass, vibraphone and drums, creates the group’s unique style, balancing between emotional melodies and polyrhythmic structures.

Zimbru

Zimbru are a tight-knit four piece of best friends playing a wild mix of raspy synthesizers, angular guitar riffs and lively percussion all topped off by stories of dancing, lost pets, queer love and nostalgia for never experienced past decades. Most easily described as art-rock, the band comes from Cluj-Napoca, Romania & is composed of Teodora Retegan, Paul Bucovesan, Andrei Bobiș and Oana Pop.
