The Terra Apathy project draws its resources from the story of the village of Horné Opatovce, which faced an ecological disaster after the construction of an aluminum smelter in Žiar nad Hronom, and was liquidated and erased from the map in 1969 by a resolution of the government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
The creators of the production Terra Apathy continue with the project the dramaturgical line of documentary theater in which they deal with forgotten or taboo topics. The productions are preceded by research in the given locations, archives and in the framework of interviews with the memorials of the events, who provide the creators with valuable and intimate statements.
For the creative team, the story of the village of Horné Opatovce is a paraphrase of our civilization, which seeks to increase its comfort through the liquidation of its
space.
